![]() Parents reading this book to their children will appreciate Joe’s attempts at behavior modification, which provides a teachable moment in this silly read. The reader will also find out that Joe has other talents, but situations still manage to get messy and he gets into trouble throughout the book. At one point, Joe does experience a moment of reflection about his behavior. His family tries their best when dealing with Joe’s sloppy behavior and preemptively mess-proof their home when he’s around. Joe is the star of this story as we are introduced to his mess of a room, but according to him, he knows where most of his stuff is located – with the exception of some stray crickets and a stale sandwich. ![]() With that being said, I have found the perfect book for children that rejoice in their sloppiness, as they avoid the disapproving looks from their parents in Sloppy Joe by Dave Keane. It was never said out loud but we knew cleaning up our messes took away from all the excitement we were having playing made-up games and pranks on each other. ![]() “Sloppiness gives us more time for fun,” was the motto of my siblings and myself growing up. ![]()
